This Page is dedicated to my Sonni.  I was with her when she was born on July 15, 1987 and was with her when she left me on March 17,1999. My old girl and I had many a good times together and she was there for me in a many a bad times too.  She didn't care, her love was  forever giving. Sonni didn't care who needed loving, 4 legged or 2, she was there to fulfill that requirement with all her heart.

She loved chasing squirrels as well.  She never caught one.  I am not sure she really tried that hard too catch them, but would sit below the tree for hours watching them.  It was a passion for her.  If you asked her where the squirrels were, she would check every tree nearby until she saw one or got a good scent of one and then would sit and watch and wait, hoping one would come down.  I think she wanted to play with them as she didn't have a mean bone in her body.

This picture above shows you how awesome this girls temperament was. She thought the min pins were baby dobermans and mothered them all regardless of age.  The little girl on top of her is Ellie, called Reddie by her new mom, and Sonni just loved that little girl and she worshiped Sonni.  You can tell she wasn't to spoiled, YEA RIGHT, am sure you noticed she is laying on her own pillow.  Yes it was her pillow and she had a cover too, but it was taken off to get this picture. The min pins were a little upset over that, they liked her blanket too.

Sonni was never finished due to personal problems in my own life, but did get shown some. She got several reserves in her younger days and would have finished once she matured I am sure but it was not to be. She had a Champion brother who was obedience titled and a HIT sister. She holds the honor of being 01 in the Longivity Program. Sonni may have never been an AKC recognized champion but she was a Champion in my heart.

Sonni only had 6 puppies in her whole life.  She never had big litters. Two of her daughters went before her. Kujo was hit by a car when her owner left a gate open by mistake.  Sissi was lost when a rott got into the yard and killed her.  Charlie lives in Maryland where he is spoiled rotten.  Ollie lives with a friend of mine here in Richmond and Luke, lives with me where he will stay forever.  Makelia is with a breeder in GA.  I have attempted to get her back sevearl times, I pray Makelia forgives my lapse of judgement in her placement, but so far that has proven unsucessful.  Maybe this breeder will keep her word on one thing and return her to me IF she should ever decide she doesn't want her anymore but I don't look for it to happen.  

We lost Sonni to kidney failure and she fought hard to stay here with me.  The day she died, she went out in the cold and took 40 minutes to walk a short distance to her favorite tree and look to see if she saw any squirrels. She sat there for about 30 minutes and then got up and made her way slowly back to the house. I helped her back up the steps and we went in the PC room where she laid on her blanket.  I told her it was OK to go, I think she needed to hear that, and Sonni died about an hour later with me by her side. Sonni is buried under the tree she liked to sit under with an arbo above her head with a heart on it. I still miss my girl and still cry for her quite often.

You are whole again my Red Head, no more pain and can watch those squirrels at The Rainbow Bridge with your mom and daughter's and look for mice and all the fun things you enjoyed doing your whole life. I will be joining you one day and it will be a great day to see you again. I still love you Sonni.
